Riya Mathur
Originally from New Delhi, India, I moved to Toronto at 17 to pursue Engineering Science (Robotics & AI Engineering) at the University of Toronto.
During my undergraduate studies, I completed two summer research projects at UofT before joining Professor Kundur’s lab for my final thesis on Moving Target Defence, exploring how AI can protect critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
My passion for cybersecurity was sharpened during a 16-month co-op at RBC, where I worked as a full-stack data engineer building AI-powered products for wealth management advisors. The experience gave me firsthand insight into just how much is at stake as AI systems become more capable as well as more vulnerable.
Outside the lab, I love travelling, hunting down great restaurants, and watching movies and shows.
