Saeed Jafari
Saeed Jafari is a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, currently working in Professor Kundur’s group at the University of Toronto. He received his Master’s degree from Tehran University, specializing in electrical engineering with a focus on communication security, and his Bachelor’s degree from Isfahan University of Technology in electrical and computer engineering.
Saeed’s research is centred on detecting intrusions in smart grids, leveraging advanced techniques such as quantum machine learning, probabilistic learning, and cyberattack detection methods. His research is supported through collaborations with leading organizations, including Hydro-Québec and Xanadu, enabling him to contribute practical innovations aimed at improving the security of communication networks and enhancing the resilience of smart grids.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Saeed is an avid football fan, channeling the same passion and dedication he has for research into his love for the sport.
