Mohsen Khalaf

Mohsen Badr Hasanien Khalaf received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. In September 2016, he was awarded a full scholarship from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada to pursue his Ph. D. In October 2020, he received his Ph. D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo. His Ph. D. topic was about the cyber-physical security of wide-area monitoring, protection and control schemes in smart grids. Mohsen joined the University of Toronto in January 2021 as a postdoctoral fellow in Kundur Research Group and he is still holding this position. His research interests include the cyber-physical security of smart grids, power system protection and the integration of renewables in the power system. He enjoys playing chess, swimming and Kung-Fu.
